How I built a multi-6 figure PR Agency from scratch with NO EXPERIENCE or CONNECTIONS
14 years ago, I did a complete “career-180” and switched from law to start my own PR firm—not terrifying at all, right?!
Despite the fact that I been practicing law for four years (with the nice associate salary that goes along with it!), and was jumping into a new field completely blindly with zero experience, I didn’t let fear get in my way.
I took this crazy, “what-on-earth-possessed-you-to-do-that?” risk. And it was a big one. I decided I was going to be my own boss, run a PR agency I created out of thin air, with zero contacts, and no formal training. That’s what I was going to do, and I wasn’t going to let anything stop me. A casual decision, right?
More than anything else, I wasnā€™t going to let the fear of failure stop me from pursuing my dreams.
I went all-in on something that was simply a dream. I knew it would give me a life that I wanted—a life with more fun and flexibility than being an attorney, working in a law firm night after night racking up billable hours, while my kids were at home playing with a nanny instead of me.
Today, I work from home supporting multiple billion-dollar clients (yes, Billion, with a B!), and I have a business that generates more revenue than I ever dreamed to make. But the thing that I am most proud of in this whole journey is that I did it on my terms.
I knew literally NOTHING about PR, but figured things out as I went along, and quickly developed some incredible strategies that work well for agencies.
